Roundtable 2024

Announcing our 2024 RHPNA Roundtable

“After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.”

1 Kings 19:12

The Refugee Highway Partnership of North America (RHPNA) is made up of people who love Jesus and love people who have experienced forced displacement. We come from different nations, cultures, political leanings, and theological traditions. We each have knowledge and experience to share, yet we also need to learn from each other and from the Lord. This year we are gathering in Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada at Portage Avenue Church (1420 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3G 0W2, Canada)

Our schedule runs from 10am on October 17th until noon on October 19th.

What you need to know:

Our Roundtable Theme

Those of us engaged in ministry along the refugee highway find ourselves between systems that are often unjust and a Christian subculture that has its own share of idolatry and injustice. Even so, we are called to be committed to loving God and loving our neighbors as ourselves. As we do so, we bear witness to the pain of the people and the land, as well as the promise of God.

We gather to listen as a spiritual practice. As people engaged in difficult places who witness suffering on a regular basis, burnout can be strong and swift. Elijah experienced this even after witnessing the power of God and the fulfillment of his promise to send rain. Through our time at the Roundtable, we will focus on abiding in Christ and fostering growth and sustainability for ourselves, our communities and the work of the kingdom. As we do so, we will be reminded that the word and presence of God is our life source.

We gather to listen to one another. We can often feel alone in our physical and spiritual places along the refugee highway. But when we gather together, it’s a reminder that we are not alone. There is work to be done and we were meant to do it together. We support one another as we listen, learn and share what God is doing. As we do so, we’re encouraged and equipped in the work that is to be done.

Over this three-day, in-person gathering, you’ll be invited to share, to learn and to fellowship! Plenary sessions, seminars, and table talks provide opportunities for inspiration and equipping. In prayer and worship, we’ll be strengthened in the hope of Christ. And through shared meals, networking, and collaborative spaces, we’ll find companions for the journey that God has called us to.
